Gina Marie (Hegseth) Malzahn

Gina M. Malzahn, 75, of Fargo, passed away Saturday, February 3, 2018, at her home.

Gina M. Malzahn was born August 4, 1942, in Breckenridge, MN, the daughter of Oalf and Gladys (Graffis) Hegseth.  She was raised on a farm near Wyndmere, ND and graduated from the Wyndmere High School.  Gina attended cosmetology college at Lakota, ND and worked there following graduation. Gina and Harold Malzahn were married March 8, 1964 at Viking Lutheran Church in Richland, County. They lived in the West Fargo/Fargo areas.  In 1972, Gina began employment as assistant head of housekeeping at Fargo Holiday Inn, and remained there for 37 years.

Gina’s family was most important to her.  She enjoyed sewing, crafts, collecting dolls, coffee with friends and Tupperware parties.  Gina will be remembered as loving, caring, and never worrying.

Surviving is her husband:  Harold; children:  Doug (Barb) Malzahn of Fargo,  Dennis (Susan) Malzahn of Wichita, KS and Dean (Sandra) Malzahn of Sheyenne, ND; grandchildren:  Tesia (Garret) Miller,  Kyra (Austin) Tillotson,  Braiton Malzahn,  Drae Malzahn,  Samantha Essen, Shannon Laney, Jacob Solem and Joshua Solem;  great-grandchildren:  Jordan & Reese Hopp; a siblings:  Marlys (Richard) Strege of Fargo and Clayton (Judy) Hegseth of Sioux Falls, SD; several nieces and nephews;  special friend and caregiver:  Julyn Krueger and many friends.

Gina was preceded in death by her parents; infant sister:  Delores and an infant brother.

Memorial Service:  10:30 a.m. Saturday, February 10, 2018, West Funeral Home Chapel in West Fargo.
