Donald Brend

Donald S. Brend, 76, of Fargo, ND passed away Monday, October 23rd at his home in Fargo, ND.

He was born to Selmer and Inez (Domier) Brend on February 24th, 1941 in Mayville, North Dakota. Don graduated from Mayville High School in 1960. On January 19th, 1963 until 1986 Don was united in marriage to Barbara Aasen and the couple moved to Garden Grove California in 1966 where he worked for the Ford Motor Company. They moved to Fargo in 1968 where he had a couple different jobs until he went into business for himself and bought a Laundromat and Dry Cleaners. In 1994 he decided to make a career change and went to work as a Custodial Engineer for the Fargo Park District at Courts Plus. During this time he also drove truck for his brother, Myron. He retired (part-time) in 2006 but worked at Courts Plus up until a few months before his death.

Don enjoyed attending his grandkids’ band performances and sporting events. His hobbies were playing golf and watching NASCAR, the Minnesota Vikings and the Minnesota Twins.

Don is survived by his two sons, Shannon (Tammy) Brend of Fargo, ND and Darian (Jodie) Brend of Apple Valley, MN; two grandkids, Dylan Brend of St. Paul, MN and Jacob Brend of Apple Valley, MN; one brother, Myron (Carol) Brend of Fargo, ND and ex-wife Barbara Brend of Fargo, ND.

He was preceded in death by both parents and one granddaughter, Emma Brend.

Don will be greatly missed by all that knew him.

Funeral:          Friday, October 27th at 11:00am at Hope Lutheran Church (south campus) Fargo, ND.

Interment:      Friday, October 27th at 2:00 pm at Mayville Cemetery, Mayville, ND.
