Candace Norgard

Candace Norgard, 70, Casselton, ND died on Sunday, June 25, 2017 at Villa Maria in Fargo, ND.

Candace Lee Schultz was born June 27, 1946 in Fargo, ND to Leland and Phyllis (English) Schultz. She grew up in Durbin, ND and graduated from high school in Casselton in 1964. She attended key punch school in St. Cloud, MN and then Joseph’s School of Hair in Fargo.  She operated Candy’s Beauty Salon in Casselton from 1969 to 1975. Candace married Roger Norgard on Oct. 21, 1972 in Casselton where they made their home and raised two daughters. Candy worked with Roger at Spare Time Lanes which they owned from 1990 to 1997. She also worked at English’s Steak House and Lounge alongside her mother and brother until it closed in 2002. At that time, she retired and cared for her grandchildren.

Candy enjoyed attending her grandchildren’s activities, spending time at the lake and traveling. She was a member of the American Legion Auxiliary and assisted with the Memorial Day Program in Casselton.

She is survived by her husband, Roger; two daughters, Jan (Kris) Aasmundstad and Angelia (Chad Badger) Baril; 6 grandchildren, Madison Foss, Ryan Aasmundstad, Lauren Aamundstad, Austin Baril, Mackenzie Baril and Ethan Baril; two brothers, Craig (Linda) Schultz and Carter (Lana) Schultz; and sister-in-law, Lynn Schultz, all of Casselton.

Candy was preceded in death by her parents and brother, Curtis.

Visitation: Thursday, June 29, 2017 from 5 to 7 PM with a prayer service at 7 PM at Westminster Presbyterian Church, Casselton (Family invites attendees to wear English’s clothing).

Funeral: Friday at 10 AM at Westminster Presbyterian Church with visitation one hour prior.
