Arvid Terry Obituary

Arvid Terry, 83, Grandin, ND died on Wednesday, April 11, 2018 at his home.

Arvid Lester Terry was born Sept. 23, 1934 at Parkers Prairie, MN to Frank and Annie (Krenz) Terry. He grew up at Backus, MN and served in the US Army in Ft. Smith, Arkansas and in Germany. He married Edna Wolff on June 4, 1956. They lived at Arthur, ND before moving to Ft. Smith. They moved to Grandin in 1963 where he worked at Grandin Mfg. In 1973, he started at Agway later renamed Cenex Harvest States where he worked for 44 years. Arvid married Betty Brown on April 23, 1994. He retired from CHS in 2017.

Arvid was married to his best friend, and pride for his children and grandchildren always showed in his eyes as he spoke of them. He loved to be surrounded by family and friends swapping stories and sharing a laugh. He was always very giving of his time for various charities and veteran organizations.

Arvid had a passion for adventure and was a collector of “stuff.” He was an avid hunter, taking many trips with family and friends “out west.” He was also a motorcycle enthusiast from early in adult life. He enjoyed riding whether it was a quick outing or a week long run. Arvid also found joy in challenges. He was always thinking of a better faster easier way to do things. If someone said it couldn’t be done, Arvid found a way.

He is survived by his wife, Betty; four children, Kip (Kris) Terry of West Fargo; Scott (Leah) Terry of Argusville, ND, Teresa Terry of Fargo and Bob (Wanda) Terry of West Fargo; grandchildren, Tony and Mattingly Rezac, Parker and Oliver Terry, Rachel (Matt) Mund, Sarah (John) Dosch and Hannah (Tony) Herder; two brothers, Andrew “Andy” of Grand Forks, ND and Alvin “Bing” (Lorrentine) of Lincoln, ND; step children, Theresa and Beverly Poppler of Williston, ND; seven step grandchildren and four step great grandchildren.

Arvid was preceded in death by his parents; five brothers, Robert, Hank, Gordy, and Melvin “Micky”; and two sisters, Eunice “Sis” and Frances.                                                        .

Memorials may be gifted to the Veterans Honor Flight ND/MN, PO Box 644, West Fargo, ND.
