Art was born on September 16, 1927 in Zeeland, ND to Edward and Emma (Perman) Walker.  He worked the family farm as a young man then moved to Mapleton where he met and married his wife of 62 years, Charlotte Grindberg.  Art joined the US Army in 1946 and was deployed to Japan during WWII.  Art was a lifetime member of the West Fargo VFW and a member of the Color Guard for many years.  Art worked at Armour Meats for 26 years doing various jobs retiring as a District Salesman, then working for 16 years at Northern Waterworks manning the city desk.  He will forever be remembered by his smile, always smiling and willing to help whenever needed or asked.  He had a love for fishing and camping, playing cards, wood working crafts and especially family get togethers.
